Extending from the west bank of the Schuylkill River to the city line, Southwest Philadelphia is one of the more racially diverse areas of the city. More than 80,000 people live here and the population is approximately 36% white and 60% black. Much of this area is industrial although the area features a wide range of neighborhoods and housing including Queen Anne style mansions and newer row houses.
It is also the location of the Philadelphia International Airport.
