- Description:Rowing is not an easy sport to view up-close, but watching an eight swoosh past in that timeless, beautiful rhythm that comes only after committed practice is just about the best way to spend a Saturday. The historic San Diego Crew Classic Regatta on Mission Bay hosts 3,000 collegiate, masters and high school rowers the first week of April. Some of the most renowned schools in the United States have competed at the Classic, including Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and UC Berkeley. Bring a picnic and get ready to be mesmerized. The event includes bands, raffles, food and the U.S. Navy parachute team.

- Description:Speed, chills, and thrills are all owned by the San Diego Thunderboat Regatta, the world series of powerboat racing, held every September to promote powerboat racing, and increase tourism in the beach area. This event attracts 150,000 fans over three days of fast and exciting racing for spectators.

- World Championship Over-The-Line Tournament

- Description:Softball in the sand – Over-The-Line (OTL) – provides unique challenges to the sport and is also unique to San Diego. The World Championship Over-The-Line Tournament takes place every year at Fiesta Island on Mission Bay.
